What Are The Common Materials For Shafts Commonly Used In Amusement Park Rides Equipment?
The shaft of the amusement facility is an important part. Since the load on the shaft is complex, the stress on the cross section is mostly alternating stress, so the material is required to have good comprehensive mechanical properties.
The material of the shaft is often made of high-quality Amusement Equipment carbon structural steel and alloy structural steel. High-quality carbon structural steel is cheaper and lower in strength than alloy structural steel, but high-quality carbon structural steel is less sensitive to stress concentration. Commonly used high-quality carbon structural steels are 35, 40, 45 and 50 (see Table 2-3 for specific grades and chemical compositions), among which 45 steel is the most commonly used. In order to ensure the mechanical properties of the material, quenching and tempering or normalizing treatment is usually carried out, and surface strengthening treatment is also carried out for important shafts.
When the strength and wear resistance of the shaft are required to be high, or when working under conditions such as high temperature or corrosive media, alloy structural steel must be used. For shafts with high requirements on wear resistance and toughness, low-carbon alloy structural steels such as 20Cr and 20 CrMnTi can be selected, and carburizing and quenching treatment should be carried out at the neck of the shaft. For shafts working at high speed and heavy load, alloy structural steels such as 38 CrMoAIA and 40CrNi can be selected. For medium carbon alloy structural steel, quenching and tempering treatment is generally used to improve its comprehensive mechanical properties.
